Date: Seventh Astral Era Year 1, 6th Day of the 1st Astral Moon
Much has happened since I've written in this log. I've been declared a full-fledged free paladin, I've grown closer to Caen and Kelvena, and I've denounced what little friendship and respect I once held for Artorias.
'Twas difficult to explain to the man the weight of his actions and words upon Caen and Kelvena and he refused or otherwise simply could not be bothered to place himself in their situation. 'Twas even more difficult for him to see how they affect them. Many a time, he thinks them useless, belittles them, and speaks as if neither of them will ever amount to anything. And that is just untrue. How could one strive to be stronger if all the words they receive from a friend is naught but insults and statements that insinuate incapability? I highly doubt the man understands the word "support" and the saying "I will be there for you."
I've never imagined for myself to ever run out of patience. My mother once said that I've the patience of a saint and yet Artorias was quite successful in driving said patience to the ground. Hells, not even Augustine is quite this terrible. He has at least shown me some semblance of understanding when I've expressed my displeasure with him. Artorias could not even be bothered to.
I've recently returned from an expedition with other Immortal Flames paladins from a mission regarding Garleans. They've a stronghold at the eastern end of La Noscea that neighbors Wineport called Castrum Occidens. We were successful in destroying their communications line but 'tis not to say when they will notice that it is down. We also assisted the Maelstrom in destroying their supplies so that they are forced to leave the stronghold and presumably spread out. Once they do, capture by the Maelstrom and the Knights of the Barracuda may be nigh inevitable. Once there is naught but few people there, they may seek to permanently destroy the stronghold. Plans are in motion, if I understand correctly, to do the same to Castrum Meridianum. But I'm of the mind that 'tis more complicated and complex.
I am currently on an airship bound for Ul'dah. Thank The Builder that I've the strength to overcome the Garleans once again and I'm quite certain more will be asked of me in the coming future. But I suppose that for now, I am to return home. Mayhap I shall take the time to visit my father's grave and inform him of what I've accomplished.
